CPD: Solvency II Advanced - Pillar II: Risk Management Function (23/06/2026) - 2 CPD

IA|BE Solvency II Advanced Pillar II - Risk Management Function

The Risk Management Function is one of the four key functions under Solvency II and forms the backbone of an insurer's system of governance. While its responsibilities are defined in the Directive (covering the identification, measurement, monitoring and reporting of risks across all relevant categories) the practical implementation requires careful thought around organisational positioning, independence, and the integration of risk management into strategic and operational decision-making. This session provides a rigorous treatment of the Risk Management Function under Pillar II, covering the regulatory requirements, the organisational setup and the key deliverables expected by supervisors. You will examine the role of the Chief Risk Officer, the interaction between the Risk Management Function and the other key functions, and how an effective risk management framework is built and maintained in practice.  Suited for actuaries and insurance professionals involved in or working closely with the Risk Management Function at insurers or reinsurers, including those responsible for risk governance, the ORSA or senior management reporting.
