Marc Beckers - General Manager. Since Dec-2021, Marc is self-employed and focuses on advising insurers on solving complex capital-related projects, in particular derisking insurance balance sheets through legacy transactions. In addition, Marc assists MGAs in finding carrier capacity and works with the ClaimsCarbon team on quantifying CO2 emissions of claims handling. The Institute of Actuaries in Belgium appointed Marc as their General Manager from 1-Aug-2026. Previously Marc was a partner at TigerRisk Partners where he ran the EMEA region and the Global Life practice (2018-2021). Prior to that, Marc led Aon’s analytics team and structured solutions team for EMEA (2007-2017). He led several unique M&A transactions (Talanx/Warta) and complex life reinsurance solutions (VidaCaixa/Berkshire Hathaway). Marc was previously CFO of Dexia Life & Pensions in Luxembourg and he was also the VP Pensions for Nationwide Financial in Luxembourg, leading their European expansion in pensions products. Before that, Marc was M&A banker at Salomon Brothers (1996-2003) focusing on insurance M&A across Europe like e.g. KBC creation, Dexia/Artesia, HDI/Gerling, Eureko/PZU, Caja Madrid/Mapfre. At the start of his career, Marc worked 5 years as an actuary for NN Belgium in life and disability insurance. Marc has over 35 years of insurance and reinsurance actuarial and capital markets experience. Marc is a qualified Belgian life actuary, a Maths teacher and he has an MBA from Cornell University.
Begum Coskun - Director of Education, joined the IA|BE team in 2025. Education professional with a PhD in Educational Sciences and fifteen years' experience across higher, professional, and continuing education as a researcher, lecturer, policy and quality adviser.
Béa Coppens - Assistant, joined the IA|BE team in 2022 and is responsible for supporting the Institute’s administrative and organisational activities. Drawing on her experience across a range of sectors, she helps ensure the smooth running of IA|BE’s day-to-day operations and works closely with the team to contribute to the Institute’s effective functioning.
