IA|BE Solvency II Advanced - Pillar I: Undertaking-Specific Parameters (USPs)
The standard formula under Solvency II uses harmonised parameters calibrated at European market level, but for many insurers, these parameters do not accurately reflect their own claims experience or risk profile. Undertaking-Specific Parameters (USPs) offer a regulatory mechanism to replace a defined set of standard formula parameters with undertaking-specific estimates, derived from the insurer's own historical data using prescribed credibility-weighted methods. This session provides a rigorous technical treatment of the USP framework, covering the eligible parameters within the non-life and health underwriting risk modules, the statistical methods prescribed by EIOPA (the standardised methods) and the data requirements and quality standards that must be met.
This online session is suited for actuaries and insurance professionals involved in SCR calculations, reserving or risk management at Belgian non-life or health insurers who want to understand the technical and practical requirements for applying undertaking-specific parameters.
The session will be delivered in English, and a Teams link will be shared two days prior to the session.
