The 2026 Dynamic General Insurance Stress Test (DyGIST): Insights for the Belgian Actuarial Community
The IA|BE Working Group Sustainability invites you to a two-hour online session dedicated to Regulatory Stress Tests. After a general introduction to Regulatory Stress Tests, the session will provide more details to the Bank of England's 2026 Dynamic General Insurance Stress Test (DyGIST), launched by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) in May 2026.
DyGIST is a landmark regulatory exercise that tests how general insurers respond dynamically to a sequence of severe adverse scenarios, assessing not just capital strength, but also risk management processes, governance, and decision-making under stress. While the exercise targets UK-regulated firms, its methodology, findings, and implications are highly relevant for actuaries working across the Belgian and broader European (re)insurance market.
Given that the exercise only launched in May 2026, this session will not focus on results, but rather on the methodology, market experience and forward-looking implications that matter most for Belgian actuarial practice. The session will close with an open Q&A.
This session is open to all members of the Belgian actuarial community.
